51.397 Plato and Forms.
This guide examines Plates' forms through counterexample. The writer concludes that a counterexample is not enough to support the forms and allows only for the possibility of their existence. Plato is known for many different things, but one of the most interesting theories he developed was his theory of forms. This was a contention that there were specific forms of things that existed before our souls and these forms were the only things that people could have any true knowledge of. There seems to be some good reason to believe that the forms exist, but it is hard to accept the premise that they are the only things that we can have true knowledge of or that they are something that has existed outside our souls since before the time of humanity. A good secondary argument against the existence of the forms. Designed for someone with a very basic knowledge of the theory.

53.455 The Forms and Virtue.
This guide claims the Theory of Forms is true simply because we all seem to sense higher justice or virtue, but can't describe it. This is a very basic argument, but also a good way to understand the theory. The theory of forms is an interesting hypothesis. It contends that there are absolutes that exist in a pure state prior to out existence and that they are images, natures, and characters of what we seek to discover in our lives. Plato believed that there was a pure form of justice and a pure form of beauty and the like and that were these were the only things that we could have true knowledge of. He also believed that they were necessary and important to existence. However, it is apparent that some of the claims he has made might be too far a field, but it is still possible to believe that they do exist.
